| About Kingfisher

What is an Employee Owned Trust? (EOT)

In 2020, Kingfisher became an Employee Ownership Trust company. The ownership of the company is held by a trust on behalf of our employees. This empowers our employees by giving them a direct stake in the organisation’s success. Through shared ownership, our employees have become more engaged, motivated, and committed to the company’s goals, leading to increased productivity and innovation.

The EOT structure also promotes long-term loyalty as employees have a vested interest in the company’s performance. We promote a culture of shared responsibility and empower staff to contribute to the company’s growth and prosperity. This renewed and collective direction of opportunity and innovation is vital to the Kingfisher brand.

Keeping Our Family Values

Since 1867, Kingfisher had been a family-owned company.
In 2020, after 4 generations of family ownership, Kingfisher became an Employee Ownership Trust company. Despite changing our ownership structure, Kingfisher remains an open and family-oriented business as we aim to treat all our employees with the respect they deserve. The EOT allows us to maintain our family values and continue to innovate and prosper as one big Kingfisher family.

Our company values are a major part of who we are at Kingfisher. You can learn more about the collective company values we strive to uphold below.
