In 2020, Kingfisher became an Employee Ownership Trust company. The ownership of the company is held by a trust on behalf of our employees. This empowers our employees by giving them a direct stake in the organisation’s success. Through shared ownership, our employees have become more engaged, motivated, and committed to the company’s goals, leading to increased productivity and innovation.
The EOT structure also promotes long-term loyalty as employees have a vested interest in the company’s performance. In 2020, after 4 generations of family ownership, Kingfisher became an Employee Ownership Trust company. Despite changing our ownership structure, Kingfisher remains an open and family-oriented business as we aim to treat all our employees with the respect they deserve. The EOT allows us to maintain our family values and continue to innovate and prosper as one big Kingfisher family.
