Grease Fittings
Metric threaded grease fittings can be either parallel or 1:16 tapered. The 1:16 tapered design is preferred as it seals in a mating parallel hole without the need for sealant.
These threads are defined by the 2 numbers i.e. M8 x 1. This would define an 8mm diameter thread with a 1mm pitch. The 3 common threads for grease fittings are M6 x 1, M8 x 1 and M10 x 1 which are all specified in DIN 71412.
