Battery plate adaptors are often used to establish a lubrication point away from the actual part needing lubrication.

The adaptor allows the connection of a tube which is fastened to the adaptor with a compression fitting. The other end of the tube goes to the required lubrication point. This can avoid having to climb into dangerous positions to apply grease to a grease fitting. They are often grouped together with anchor blocks to provide a single position for lubrication.
